The Korean Empire, officially the Empire of Dai Han (Hangul: 대한제국; Hanja: 大韓帝國; Daehan Jeguk; litterally Great Korean Empire) is a country on the Korean Peninsula, located in East Asia. It is a presidential republic with its capital and largest city in Seoul (Satomi Maiden ~ Third Power). It borders in the south and in the north to Japan (Satomi Maiden ~ Third Power), Russia (Satomi Maiden ~ Third Power) to the north, and in the northeast to the Republic of China (Satomi Maiden ~ Third Power). It has an area of almost 350,000 square kilometres and have a population of 110 million people. It is an economic power and energy superpower with a abundance of natural energy resources and minerals, and has the world's third largest national economy. It is one of the three leading superpowers of Asia (behind Japan and China).

The Korean Empire was established throught the Proclamation of the Korean Empire in October 1897. It is the successor regime to the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1897). In October 1897, Emperor Gojong proclaimed the new entity at Gyeongungung Palace (Satomi Maiden ~ Third Power) and oversaw the partially successful modernization of the military, economy, land system, education system, and various industries. In the 1910s, the Korean Empire had undergone an extensive and succesful modernization of the Korean Armed Forces (Satomi Maiden ~ Third Power), and defeated Japan during the Japanese invasion of the Korean Empire (Satomi Maiden ~ Third Power) in the World War I (Satomi Maiden ~ Third Power). In the 1920s and 1930s, the Koreans saw an economic boom in the Korean economy until the outbreak of World War II (Satomi Maiden ~ Third Power). The Koreans joined the Allied during the war and claimed more territory from the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics of the Soviet Union (Satomi Maiden ~ Third Power). The Korean Empire emerged as a superpower during the Cold War (Satomi Maiden ~ Third Power). With the collapse of Communism and the Soviet Union in the mid-1980s, the Korean Empire, Japan and China were left as the three dominated world superpowers.
